Brown’s babes’ bloodbath

sarah-brownBack on 14th May I posted a suggestion that history might record of Gordon Brown that it was “the women that did for him” .

With Jacqui Smith and Hazel Blears dealing him consecutive body blows over the past 24 hours, by jove I think I might actually be right – though I confess to not seeing all the twists and turns along the way.

I was interested to learn over lunch today with an old mate who has something of an “in” with the Labour hierachy, that the ONE person that is likely to be able to persuade Gordon that the time to step down has now arrived is not Lord Mandelson or Mr Balls or Jack Straw but is Sarah Brown.

So now we must hope that Mrs Brown – an accomplished public relations practitioner lets not forget – can put some of her experience to good use and put an end to all of this soon.

Jacqui Smith has just announced her resignation. Hoorah! That must surely see the end of  the ID cards project .

Well she was going to get sacked by Brown on Friday . So she walked before she was pushed. Perhaps Brown could learn something from her after all.

More to follow…..

“It’s the women that did for him”

women

What’s the betting that the history books on Gordon Brown’s demise will state “it’s the women that finally did for him”.

Jacqui Smith, Harriet Harman, Hazel Blears, Joanna Lumley and incredibly Camilla Parker Bowles (who seems to be the “mysterious” senior Royal who  wrote to Joanna Lumley offering private support for her Gurkha campaign) have all played their part in recent weeks in bringing Gordon Brown’s downfall that bit closer.

I have always thought Gordon to be a “man’s man”. More at ease in the company of his own kind (Draper, McBride, Whelan etc) rather than dealing with the far more complex fairer sex. They can be so darn tricky these women.

Rumors are that Smith and Blears will be swiftly dealt with at the next Government reshuffle. With the more controllable Yvette Cooper promoted yet again (…well you must have some women in the Cabinet and best to have ones that are married to a mate so that he can be tasked with keeping her under control).

Ms Harman, Lumley and Parker Bowles are more difficult to deal with. Best to just ignore them if possible and hope they go away. Fat Chance Gordon.

(ps better still why not have a meeting wth one of them, say Ms Lumley, and then get your aides to go on the record disagreeing with her interpretation of events, that should sort things nicely….).

Update :  As has been pointed out to me… I should add that Heather Brooke deserves her name up there too.

Marry Jacqui Smith and get tax-funded porn

By Mark Littlewood

Jacqui SmithAmusing to see the endless scandals over MPs’ expenses reaching new levels of farce today as the Home Secretary claimed for two “adult” films watched by her spouse.

But surely, as great a scandal is that £3.50 was wasted on viewing the truly excrable “Surf’s Up”?

If Richard Timney switched over from whatever pornography he was watching in order to see a movie about computer-generated penguins, he clearly isn’t subscribing to the right pornography channels.

Perhaps a publicly-funded sex therapy workshop for her husband will be the next item on the Home Secretary’s shopping list?
