Chairman: Mark Littlewood

Mark was Head of Media for the Liberal Democrats from December 2004 to May 2007. Previously, he was Campaigns Director of human rights group Liberty from June 2001 until April 2004. In 2004, he was co-founder, and first national coordinator of NO2ID, Britain’s leading pressure group opposing the introduction of national identity cards. He has been Chairman of NO2ID since 2006.

Mark has also been a media consultant for the Environment Agency in 2000 and for TfL’s London Bus Initiative in 2001.

Mark appears regularly in the national media as a spokesman and commentator – particularly on civil liberties issues and European affairs.

Director: Chandila Fernando

Chandila has been involved in British Politics since the age of 5 and comes from a political family.

A seasoned campaigner over successive elections who was formally a Conservative but left when Michael Howard became leader.

Over the last 10 years Chandila has been involved in a variety of political, community and commercial projects both in the UK and Sri Lanka including, an Indian Cinema inspired restaurant,a housing programme for the disabled service personnel in Sri Lanka, outsourcing and most recently,succession planning for legacy businesses.

His expertise is in building relationships and marketing the "brand".

A student of Political Science, devotee of the "lovemarks" concept, passionate advocate of liberal values and a stronger believer in the power of the broadcast media.

Chandila feels that the Liberal Democrats must develop a new style of campaigning, simplify their message and become more professional in order to be considered a real force in British Politics by the voting public .
