+++ Liberal Vision Conference Mayhem +++

September 10th, 2009 Posted in Uncategorized by

Hello everyone,

If you are attending LibDem Conference in Bournemouth Liberal Vision are hosting two events you won’t want to miss:

The first is on Sunday the 20th September in the Purbeck Suite of the Highcliff Marriott Hotel. Moats, Mortgages and Mayhem: the Expenses Scandal will take a look at the biggest political new story of the year. Our panel consists of Paul Staines (Guido Fawkes of order-order.com), Greg Dyke (former Director General of the BBC), Tessa Munt (PPC for Wells and a member of the Federal Executive) and Lord Teverson. Come join the debate.

Our next event on Tuesday the 22nd September co-hosted with Forest, the Free Society will ask “How should liberals fight the nanny state?” Panelists include: Mark Littlewood (Director, Liberal Vision), Simon Clark (Director, Forest) and the fabulous Charlotte Gore (No 1 Lib Dem blogger). Smokers welcome, refreshments available for the after-party!!

I look forward to seeing you there.

    Out of interest, the events that Liberal Vision is hosting, would you have to be a Liberal Democrat Party member? Because I am a member of the Libertarian Party but would be happy to plan a way from London for these events.

  2. Mark Littlewood Says:

    No, you don’t have to be a LibDem member to attend – and as the two events are outside of the secure zone, you don’t even need to register for the conference to come along.

  3. Adam Smith Says:

    Great, that means that your supporters can come, rtaher than expecting Liberal Democrats to fill your seats.

  4. Mark Littlewood Says:

    Hmmmm….whatever happened to reaching out to the wider public? Trying to engage people who agree with some – but not all of our views – who might not support us at present? Or is the purpose of the Liberal Democrat party to talk to itself and its declining membership base? I hope not.

    You’d think the way that some people go on, that 17% is too high a poll rating to cope with.

    @Adam Smiff

    As a libertarian but not a natural Lib Dem I am coming down for a specific debate and will be spend the day enjoying the conference and listen to you guys.

    Tell me if I am not welcome, or if I should wear a badge that could wear the legends “not a Lib Dem” or “not a part of Adams’s clique.”
