It’s only a matter of time until someone here denounces Milton Friedman as not being ‘really’ libertarian – although I can save you some time by pointing out that Murray Rothbard argued this a long time ago – although since of course Rothbard was no liberal, perhaps he isn’t really a libertarian either?
Right, back to my broad church I scuttle – although not without pointing out that I agree with Ziggy [no, really!] about ‘Free to Choose’ – a bit dated, perhaps, three decades on, but still marvellously inspiring, even if for those who don’t agree with every word or would wish to go much further ….

Friedman wasn’t as much of an anarchist as Ruthbard nor funny enough as much as his own son David.
but I’m not that much of an anarchist & Freidman pitched a lot of ideas which just just seemed the right pitch for my political liking.

Freidman was tedious and most of his ideas, when practiced, were disastrous. Monetarism being a fine example.

I heard somebody somewhere else call him a socialist lmao
I think there’s a fair few Marxists who’d disagree with that conclusion
