Admittedly it’s only “Jane Kennedy,” who was apparently some kind of Environment minister.
As minor as she is, this remains portentous. The slow trickle of resignations, if it continues, will bring down Gordo by the end of the week.

No, on the contrary – a slow trickle will not force him out. Gordon Brown will never, never, never resign voluntarily. He is convinced he is the best person to lead the Labour party. He has been convinced of that since 1994 at least. He will not change his mind unless he physically cracks under the strain. Hmm, brackets and “del” doesn’t seem to work (for strikethroughs) either. I’ll have a word with Head Technician.
I entirely agree that Gordo won’t step down voluntarily – more what I meant was that if they keep resigning, even if in a slow one-after-the-other fashion, eventually so many will have gone to signal a clear opportunity for a vote of no confidence.
