Lord Rennard and the future of the Lib Dems

May 28th, 2009 Posted in UK Politics by Angela Harbutt

Diabetes and “family time” aside, according to Agent Orange, Lord Rennard is still out and about doing his bit for the cause. Whether this is wise with allegations over his allowances claims still unanswered is another matter.

  1. Ed Joyce Says:

Do we have any further information about the second home issue. Is that still being claimed. This issue has damaged the parties credibility in opposing the massive issues in the other parties. They dwarf our issues but somehow the way that we have dealt with this issue has made people thing ‘they are all the same’ when we are not. This is not least because our London MP’s did not claim a second home allowance. It was allowing that to happen for our Chief Exec that hoisted us on our own petard.

  2. Michael I Says:

We are not doing very well dealing with the Expenses scandel.

    1. Very slow decision making on Rennard and he allowed to stay short term

    2. Clegg talking a lot but no signs of him disciplining our worse offendors or recalling them.

In addition it’a a scandel that the creditors of Michael Brown are incurring costs attempting to recover the £2.4 million from the Lib Dems. I see this becoming a big political issue if the money is not repaid soon
